About the tournament

The International Promises Montseny Cup began in 2016 in Sant Esteve de Palautordera, in the Montseny, with sixteen teams. Today more than 3,000 players take part each edition, over the Carnival weekend, at venues in Osona and the Vallès Oriental, north of Barcelona.

In 2027 it has 15 categories for boys and girls, in 7-a-side and 11-a-side, and the organizers expect around 250 teams, among them international teams and professional academies.

It is a charity tournament against childhood cancer. In 2024 it raised more than 6,900€ through Pulseras Candela for research and treatment at the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu, and this edition is dedicated to the cause.

European Sport Events brings international teams to the tournament and takes care of their trip: the hotel, transfers and time in Barcelona.

Dates by category

Each category plays its whole tournament on one day, the Saturday or the Sunday: at least four matches, with trophies for the champions and the runners-up.

The rules

7-a-side and 11-a-side, by category, with the tournament's official referees
At least 4 matches, all on one day
Matches are one half of 20 minutes (7-a-side) or 28 minutes (11-a-side)
Up to 14 players a squad in 7-a-side and 20 in 11-a-side, with rolling substitutions
Trophies for the champion and the runner-up of every category

The full rules

Squads: A federation license or an identity document is required for every player. Up to 14 players in 7-a-side and 20 in 11-a-side.
Matches: 20 minutes in 7-a-side and 28 minutes in 11-a-side. Substitutions are rolling, from the bench area. The referee adds no time unless they consider it necessary.
Group ties: Two teams level are separated by the match between them; three or more, by the most points among them; then by the most goals scored, the fewest conceded, and fair play.
Knockout ties: A draw goes to 3 penalties each, or 5 in 11-a-side.
Discipline: During the tournament, the final say is the host venue's committee. A straight red card means a one-match suspension, as that committee decides.
Kit clash: If the colors clash, the team listed first in the fixture table plays in its own kit.
Trophies: Presented at the end of each category, to the champion and the runner-up.
